Northland Area Federal Credit Union is seeking a full-time regulatory Compliance Officer. As a key player in the Credit Union, you will analyze, report and make recommendations on compliance with policies and procedures, based on applicable laws and regulations. This position also oversees and conducts analyses of Credit Union operations within areas such as ACH, MIP, Red Flags, Reg CC and vendor management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or comparable time on the job
Three or more years of similar or related experience

Essential Functions:

- Identifies, records and monitors all laws, compliance and regulations application to Credit Union operations. Insures the Credit Union is informed of all applicable changes and recommends changes to process to be in compliance.
- Conducts periodic analysis to determine adequacy and effectiveness of current processes and compliance with established policies, procedures, laws and regulations. Recommends corrective action to ensure consistency and compliance to policy and procedures in all departments and branches.
- Monitors file maintenance, system access, & dormant accounts on an ongoing basis.
- Maintains a compliance library that provides adequate and necessary reference material which includes a copy of all the credit union policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Provides compliance support for disclosures on new products & promotions.
- Ensures annual reviews of policies & vendor management due diligence are completed.

Success Factors / Job Competencies: The successful candidate will be well-organized, efficient, detail-oriented and a self-starter. Must possess an in-depth understanding of and ability to interpret compliance and regulations affecting programs within the Credit Union. The position requires the ability to prioritize, perform tasks with a high level of accuracy and to respond proactively to changes in the regulatory and credit union environments. Candidate must demonstrate a professional approach in dealing with others and a high level of confidentiality and discretion. Position requires excellent communication skills with professionalism, diplomacy and tact. Requires a strong working knowledge in PC technology and programs such as Microsoft Office (Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Typical indoor office environment; occasional travel and/or driving may be required. Must be able to remain stationary for long periods of time in a sitting position. Must be able to occasionally move about/traverse inside the office to access cabinets, files, office machines, etc. Requires occasional lifting and/or carrying of less than 10 pounds. Requires continuous communication to others and exchanging of information. Requires repetitive use of hand/fingers, such as keyboard typing and use of office equipment. Must be able to continuously think analytically, use written communication, handle stress and emotions, concentrate on tasks and remember names and/or details. Pay Grade 2: Minimum of pay range starts at $51,450 annually. Pay is negotiable based education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. Exempt position.
